Specimen number: 31001/37379 Equus simplicidens age (in this case the geologic age the specimen comes from) Pliocene Blancan Date found: 1931 Name of collector: Smithsonian Institute Notes or other items of interest about the specimen. State of Idaho, part of voucher collection given to Idaho Historical Society by Smithsonian, transferred to IMNH. Molded and casted in 1985.
Mr. Tucker (College of Idaho) worked with the Smithsonian Institute during their excavations. He was designated to make a representative collection for the State of Idaho. Nicknamed "Norman" after Norman Boss, Smithsonian Field Crew Leader.
